Greenfield Man Dies after SR 28 Crash

One man died following an accident involving three vehicles on State Route 28 in Ross County, Wednesday.  Officials with the Chillicothe Post of the State Highway Patrol said Zachariah Lyons, 29, of Greenfield, was driving an SUV that was pulling a homemade trailer, which lost one of its rear tires.  The tire reportedly hit a westbound car that did not stop and then an eastbound SUV driven by Walter Staup, 55, of Bourneville.

Authorities said Staup and his passenger, Jeffrey Calhoun, 56, of Greenfield, were taken to Adena Greenfield Medical Center.  Staup was treated for non-life threatening injuries, while Calhoun was pronounced dead at the hospital, authorities said.
